From Sydney, Jetstar will increase its services to Townsville from five to six per week from November 6, rising to daily services from December 10. On December 2, the airline will increase frequencies to Adelaide and Ballina to three and two times daily, while from January 13 it will launch an additional daily service on the Sydney-Brisbane route.
Collectively, the new frequencies will add more than 820,000 seats per year to the Jetstar network, and come after earlier announcements of more capacity on services from Perth and Cairns. They also come as competitor Tiger Airways has announced a delay in the delivery of two A320s, forcing it to curtail its growth plans for this year.
