A Queensland property developer has launched plans for a 12 hectare airpark development adjacent to Bundaberg Airport with the support of the Bundaberg Regional Council.
The Kensington Parkside project is being managed by John Pressler, and will see the development of up to 600 residential detached dwellings, townhouses and duplexes, including 100 homes with direct airside access. There are also plans for a five storey apartment block, a town centre, a cafe and restaurant precinct, sports facilities and recreational parks and gardens.

“Some have visited Bundaberg and believe it is ideally located to accommodate this project. It is a major regional city in a world class coastal region with ready access to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and Fraser Island. It is also only 150nm from the state capital, Brisbane,” said Pressler.
“Being the birthplace of Bert Hinkler, the first person to fly solo from England to Australia, also makes Bundaberg a fitting location for this project.”
A business airpark has already been approved, with 15 lots now being offered for sale. Residential and commercial lots have received town planning approval but are awaiting engineering approvals before they are released for sale.
