Emirates says that it has fielded enquiries from a number of airports around the world after it recently ordered 32 additional A380s at the Berlin Airshow, while it has now launched A380 services to Manchester.
“As a result of our announcement in Berlin, we have had enquiries from more than 20 airports across the world, asking whether Emirates would fly the A380 to their airports,” said Emirates executive vice chairman Maurice Flanagan. “These aircraft are a dream to travel in and a dream to have at your disposal for expansion. They are extremely popular with our passengers and where we deploy them, they fill up almost immediately – running at over 90 per cent load factor.”

Flanagan’s comments came as Emirates launched A380 services on its Dubai-Manchester route, making it the 11th Emirates route to be operated by its growing A380 fleet. The airline will also introduce A380 services to Hong Kong on October 1, while it will return A380s to the New York-JFK service on October 31.
