Being the very last Boeing 747 delivered to Qantas, and also the last to leave Australia, VH-OEJ remains a special aircraft indeed. The jet, having been sold to a US aircraft leasing company and ultimately delivered to US cargo operator Kalitta Air, now bears the registration N329ZA.On 1 June, the jumbo jet was moved from what was thought to be its final resting place in the Mojave Desert and instead completed a 3,500km trip to Oscoda Airport on the far side of the United States. It appears now that this 3.5-hour trip was the four-engine beauty’s final flight.
