Cobham Aviation Services Australia has announced that it will operate regular public transport flights between Perth and Kambalda from October 19 as an extension of charter services to the Goldfields town.

“One of the great benefits of the introduction of the charter service is that it has now opened up to everyone in Kambalda. Instead of driving to Kalgoorlie to catch a flight, the people of Kambalda will be able to fly directly to Perth for business and medical appointments,” said Cobham’s general manager regional services David Moncrieff.

Fares will start from $173.25 one way, and the flights will be operated by a 50-seat Bombardier Dash 8-Q300.

The daily air services to Kambalda have been flown since December 2008 as a charter under contract to to Gold Fields – St Ives Gold Mine, Avoca Resources Limited, Lanfranchi Nickel Mine and Norseman Gold Pty Ltd.
