Is Australia training more pilots than there are jobs available?

That is the question that a lot of newly rated commercial pilots are asking themselves as they try to mount the job ladder looking for flying work with their new commercial pilot licence (CPL).

Years ago a new CPL would obtain the licence and then chase up a job via networking, following up an advert in an aviation magazine or the CFI would get a request from a charter operator for someone who they could recommend. The idea was that the new CPL holder would then build up hours and experience before looking for that airline position.
