Irish low cost carrier Ryanair says that it is working on an order for 200 aircraft from Boeing or Airbus which it hopes to have wrapped up by the end of the year, with deliveries to follow after 2012.
“If for some reason we can’t conclude an agreement with Boeing and Airbus, certainly by the end of the year, we will simply announce we are not going to buy any more aircraft,” Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said at a London press conference on October 12.

Ryanair currently flies a fleet of 202 Boeing 737-800s, and has a further 110 on order. O’Leary told reporters that he would be willing to switch to an Airbus fleet if the European manufacturer offered it a better deal.
