US Navy MH-60R operations ramp up
As a decision on the successful Project Air 9000 Phase 8 successor to the Navy’s S-70B-9 Seahawks and the cancelled SH-2G(A) Seasprites looms, both candidates, Team Romeo and Australian Aerospace are bolstering their arguments for their respective products, the MH-60R Seahawk ‘Romeo’, and the NH 90 NATO Frigate Helicopter (NFH).
Team Romeo’s offering is a joint effort by Sikorsky (airframe), Lockheed Martin (systems integration), General Electric (engines), Raytheon (sensors) and CAE (training devices), in conjunction with the US Navy as the aircraft’s primary operator and US Government Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agency.
