Wedgetail, C-130s take on Red Flag Alaska 2012

Red Flag Alaska 12-2 saw as diverse a range of aircraft and air forces as one could expect at an exercise that is the regional benchmark for large-scale air combat simulation.

The RAAF has previously sent a range of units to participate in this two-week exercise, from 3SQN Hornets to 4SQN Joint Terminal Air Controllers. For Red Flag Alaska 12-2, held between June 7-22, the Air Force committed three aircraft from two squadrons – a C-130H and C-130J from 37SQN and a 2SQN E-7A Wedgetail.
