Singapore Airlines saw an easing in its passenger numbers during September compared to the same time last year, driven by lower loads on its Australia and New Zealand services.
The total number of passengers carried by SIA over the month came in at 1.347 million, down 1.1 per cent compared to September 2009. Despite that, revenue passenger kilometres grew by 0.6 per cent, while capacity increased by 1.3 per cent. As a result, passenger load factor was down 0.6 percentage points to 80.3 per cent, while the South West Pacific market saw a 4.9 percentage point fall in load factor to 67.1 per cent.

While load factor on passenger services was lower, SIA Cargo saw a 0.3 percentage point improvement in cargo load factor, which came in at 63.5 per cent. Cargo capacity increased by 8.6 per cent and freight carried increased by 2.2 per cent.
