• BAE Systems announced on April 3 the first official launch order for the RJX program, with Druk Air-Royal Bhutan Airlines ordering two Avro RJX-85s. They will enter service in November 2001 and January 2002.
• Lockheed Martin delivered the 4000th F-16 Fighting Falcon, 0103, at Fort Worth, Texas, on April 28. The aircraft was one of 21 F-16C Block 40s ordered under the Peace Vector 5 program by the Egyptian Air Force. Firm F-16 orders will see production extend to 2006, which could continue to 2009 taking options into account.
