Boeing will stop taking delivery of sections for the 787 for two weeks due to delays from key supplier Alenia Aeronautica.
According to a Reuters report, the delay is due to a change in shipment schedule rates on 787 horizontal stabilisers from Alenia. That is understood to be related to workmanship issues on a number of 787 horizontal stabilisers which earlier this year forced Boeing to ground and rework some of its flight test aircraft.

Despite the two week shutdown in production, Boeing said it would not have an impact on the delivery date for the first 787, which is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2011. Boeing previously halted production of one aircraft earlier this year to allow its suppliers to catch up to design changes ahead of a ramp up in production rates.
