Register Review
Grant Farrow’s Rans S-7S Courier WET is the only new type listed on the CASA register this issue although there are two already on the RA-Aus register and no less than six flying in New Zealand.
The Courier is a conventional single-engine, high wing, tail wheel, two-seater designed by Randy Schlitter and manufactured by Rans in the US. The aircraft is available as a factory-built light sport aircraft, the S-7LS, or as a kit for amateur builders, the S-7S. The Courier was named after one of Randy’s favourite aircraft, the Helio Courier, and was designed with exceptional STOL capabilities the same as its namesake. It was originally conceived as a trainer for the single-seat Rans Coyote but as the design has developed it has become a very capable sport/touring aircraft in its own right.
