Airbus Four Years Later

Since its debut with Air France on the Paris-London route, passengers in many parts of the world have come to appreciate the comfort and convenience of the A300. It Is now in service with 14 operators.

Among wide-body aircraft the A300 remains unique. It is the only one of the new generation designed from the outset for short and medium range routes, while retaining a longer range capability.

Some two thirds of the world’s airline traffic flies on routes less than 4000km. Despite all the advances made in re­ cent years in aviation technology, it is these shorter routes which continue to offer the biggest economic challenge.
