Pilots watches are being marketed in a multitude of shapes, sizes and qualities. Some of them are currently available in Australia and include types obviously well thought-out and made almost specifically for pilots.

Others, unfortunately, don’t belong in the cockpit or flight deck, being adaptations of divers’ watches or other timepieces . . .

The Breitling Navitimer Quartz 2100 Pluton, in our book, is something of a borderline case. AADR put it through a week-long practical ground and flight test and found that many of the Navitimer’s attributes duplicated the workings of instruments either carried in our nav bag or displayed on the panel.
