The revolutionary mini stick will replace the cumbersome and heavy conventional yoke. Ministick operation will be based upon a fly-by-wire system and has been satisfactorily flight tested by 48 pilots from 12 major airlines and five international regulatory authorities over a period of 75 flight hours.
Airbus Industrie Set To Broaden Market Base With A320 Airliner

Once dubbed as the most launched, un-launched aircraft in the history of commercial aviation, Airbus industries candidate in the 150-seat market, the A320, is now a firm programme.
Officially launched on March 2nd, Airbus Industrie had deliberately held off launching the project till each Airbus partner had guaranteed government finance and a sufficiently large firm order book existed. The wait has paid off in more ways than one. If the project had been launched during late 1981 or early 1982 as had originally been intended then the ability of the participating governments to be as enthusiastic towards the project may have been weakened by the drought of orders experienced by every airframe manufacturer alike through the dark years of recession. Additionally, two complete years of the scenes R&D on the A320 has resulted in one of the most developed airliner programmes yet conceived. Like fine wine, the A320 has benefited from the long gestation.
What though, is the market for the new 150 seater?
