General Electric is now shipping completed Rolls Royce RB211·535E4 engines (for the 757) from its Peebles, Ohio facility. This is a part of the RR/GE revenue and technology sharing agreement that allows each company to build up to 15% of its partner's engines. For its part, Rolls Royce is building major components for the latest GE CF6-B0C2 engines destined for the 747 and a number of Airbus twin-aisle aircraft

Ansett Teams With Bond in Far Reaching Airship Link:
Ansett Transport Industries and the Bond Corporation have teamed in a 50/50 joint marketing and development venture to promote the Skyship series of airships for the Pacific and Asian regions, excluding Japan A similar agreement was formed between Bond and Westinghouse i the US during May.
in The new company, titled Asian Pacific Airships has effectively bought out the assets of Swan Airships Pty Ltd and has immediately placed an order for a second Skyship 600 to be built locally and to be operational by the end of this year. The first Skyship 600 is presently fly- a media telecast platform and advertising vehicle and is fully booked night the end of 1987. The use of several more such aircraft in Australia is envisaged with the eventual possibility that there will ultimately be one based in each capital city. Installation of a computer-generated night sign aboard the 600 opens up a whole new world of night-time advertising presentations using the airship сопове Of long-term interest is the use that Ansett Transport Industries, half owned by transport giant, TNT, might have in future cargo-carrying versions of airships. Already Airship Industries is looking to develop large-scale versions of the airship that will be capable of lifting more than 100 tonnes of cargo and transporting it at around 40kts. For use in remote regions or across difficult t terrain or ocean both TNT and Airship Industries foresee the airship concept as being a viable alternative to many existing freight modes. The airship would for instance be more than twice as fast as a a container ship while being between three and four times faster than road freight in anything other than intra-city freeway conditions. For airships, and their future development in Australia, the future has never been brighter.
