Re-Inventing the Wheel

Two interesting items of note in this edition’s Newsdesk section refer to old aircraft making a vastly revitalised appearance on the world airliner stage.

Lockheed, who seem to specialise in the most creative of ideas at times, has offered the Chinese aerospace industry the opportunity to build vast numbers of, you guessed it, the Electra. Lockheed though point out that this is no ordinary nineteen-fifties Electra but more a stretched Orion just in case the Revolutionary Guards of the period kept press clippings of wing failures, etc.
