The Sentinel from Queensland's Seabird Aviation is progressing well with its flight test programme. The new FAR23 light aircraft first flew on October 1 1989 and is powered by a Norton 90hp Aerator rotary engine. The Aerator weighs just 70kg and at 70% power has a fuel burn of only 19/ph. Full CA A certification is expected before the end of 1990 and 21 serial numbers have already been allocated to deposit holders

Ace Expands in to in Ternational Pilot Training:
The ACE (Aviation Computer Education) system of pilot theory training (refer p116 Nov 89 AA) is expanding into commercial pilot training.
Airtex Aviation’s ACE system has now branched out to develop an International Pilot Training Course (IPTC) which will also have the benefit of using any of the established ACE schools Australia wide. The 52 week course graduates its students with a full Australian CPL or to whatever specific equivalent standard that an overseas airline might requrre. The Flyrng component of the course includes a minimum of 250 hours including command training on a Beech King Air and a second class jet endorsement on a Citation 2.
