National Jet Syst Ems Commence Operations

National Jet took delivery of their BAe146-100VH-NJC at Adelaide on June 28th and on July 2nd it commenced operations on contract to Santos. National Jet have taken over the contract previously held by Lloyd Aviation to ferry personnel and equipment from Adelaide and Brisbane to Moomba and Jackson in the Cooper Basin. The BAe 146, which is fitted in a 71 seat configuration, operates eight return flights weekly between Adelaide and Moomba, while Jackson is served once weekly. The route from Brisbane to Jackson is served three times weekly by Westwind 2 VH-BCL. PA-31-350VH-OAOis used to operate a shuttle service between Moomba and Jackson.

The National Jet BAe 146VH-NJC has also been contracted to fly for Australian Cargo with its first flight operating between Adelaide and Melbourne on July 4th. From Monday thru Thursday night VH-NJC operates for Australian Cargo on the route Adelaide/Melbourne/Sydney/Melbourne/Adelaide. Lloyd Aviation, who previously held the Santos contract, imported F28-4000 VH-LAR in June 1985 and it was operated in a 79 seat configuration. With VH-LAR now being redundant to the Lloyd fleet it was ferried from Adelaide to Perth on July 1st to enter service with Ansett WA. It is expected however that VH-LAR will ultimately join Ansett NSW.
