To Own a P-40 an D a Mig-21

Following his recent move from Victoria to Queensland Jack McDonald has continued his rebuild work on not one but two warbird aircraft that are a shade more than unusual. Jack has now completed rebuild work on the fuselage of his P-40E, A29-28, but still has a problem in obtaining wings or rebuildable wings for the machine. Also in Jack’s stable is a Polish build LiM. 5 better known as a licence-built MiG-21. Imported from Poland in 1989, the jet fighter needs less work than the P-40 to go back into the air. Other than flying Mustangs Jack flew Meteors in the Korean War and is now keen to compare those aircraft with the MiG when he gets it airworthy and into the air.

Award to Army Aviation Museum Curator

The Curator of the Museum of Australian Army Flying at Oakey, Qld has been named Army Aviator of the year. Warrant Officer Terry Egan DCM received the award for displaying considerable loyalty, particularly to Army Aviation, throughout his career of some 36 years with the service. In recent years Warrant Officer Egan has been the Curator of the MAAF and in a very short time has turned the Museum into a real showpiece of Army Aviation.
