Commodore Norman Lee continues his series of articles on aircraft he flew during his 33 year service with the RAN and RN Fleet Air Arm.

Following completion of flying training at Point Cook, we Navy trainees were only granted provisional wings as we had yet to qualify in the art of deck landing; this required further training with the Royal Navy.

Following a splendid trip by sea to the United Kingdom, we duly joined the Royal Naval Air Station at Lossiemouth in Scotland to undergo part 1 of the operational flying school course (OFS) in Mk1 Fireflys.
