The 2023 Australian Aviation Awards held at The Star in Sydney

The fourth annual Australian Aviation Awards spotlights the top-performing aviation professionals and businesses across the nation, run in support of principal partner, UNSW Sydney. 

Submissions and nominations have been flowing in from aviation professionals since launch, with individuals and businesses aiming to bolster their credibility by being named a finalist or winner in the prestigious Australian Aviation Awards.

Female Aviation Leader of the Year 

With both SME and large business categories on offer, the Female Aviation Leader of the Year award celebrates the full spectrum of female aviation talent. This category recognises top-performing female leaders accelerating their business’s success. 

The winner of the Female Aviation Leader of the Year award will also have played a critical role in supporting the strengthening, recovery, diversity, and growth of Australia’s aviation industry and its capabilities.

Engineering Professional of the Year

This prestigious award spotlights an engineer or technician that has demonstrated excellence in serving their community, organisation or institution. Finalists and the ultimate winner in this category will have a strong track record of supporting the strengthening of Australia’s aviation industry through their active participation.

The Engineering Professional of the Year award is open to all engineering professionals working across areas such as aerodynamics, design, aircraft maintenance, navigation systems, avionics, software, mechanical, structural, military, and other aviation-related disciplines.

Rising Star 

This award is split into a large business and SME category to recognise aviation professionals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to building their career in aviation. 

The judging criteria for this award considers the activities, strategies, and actions utilised by the industry’s rising stars to positively contribute to the development of their discipline and bolster rapid career progression.

The Australian Aviation Awards provides a platform of national recognition for both individuals and businesses. By being named a finalist or winner in this coveted awards program participants can catapult their professional credibility and business success.

The Australian Aviation Awards, in conjunction with event stakeholders Momentum Media, Australian Aviation, and a panel of leading aviation professionals, have developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading aviation professionals and businesses. 

The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s aviation sector.

All businesses and professionals that meet eligibility criteria from across Australia’s aviation industry are encouraged to participate in the awards program.
