AA thrill seeker, Paul Caldwell, recently tried something completely different when he took up the invitation to tandem jump from 11,000ft. While Paul had always seemed a little suspect in the sanity dept we never thought he would really wish to voluntarily depart a perfectly serviceable aeroplane1 On return to earth however he reports that the experience was both entirely painless and the "best funhe has had for years". And when you are as old as PC then that must mean something. Hawker Pacific Restructuring in Victoria:
Hawker Pacific have closed their servicing facilities at both Moorabbin and Essendon airports, citing Victoria’s depressed GA environment as the primary reason for the decision The company though is to further expand its operations at Eagle Farm, largely in support of Compass and other regional operators, and also at Oakey where support is already given for the Army Aviation fleet of Porter, Kiowa, Iroquois and Black Hawk aircraft. Hawkers are also supporting the Jandakot Flying College and are expanding their servicing facilities there in addition to Cairns where Army UH-1H support is given
GA Activity Drops as Costs Rise, Economy Down:
The Civil Aviation Authority has noted a decline in aviation gasoline consumption during recent months, suggesting that general aviation activity has fallen about 10% since the August 1990 invasion of Kuwait.
