21 Air Force Jets Mothballed?

The Royal New Zealand Air Force’s 21 Skyhawks could be mothballed or even sold if a review finds they do not fit current defence objectives. Six of them are stationed in NSW, involved in Australian naval exercises. (Refer p. 32 June 91 AA)

The review, to be completed by 31 August, is one of five recommended by a Defence White Paper as a means of assessing whether defence resources are adequate and, if not, how they should be replaced, if at all.
