Hartzell has acquired exclusive rights to five Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) held by US firm Top Prop. The three blade STC props offer substantial advantages for aircraft in which they are installed including shorter takeoff distances, improved climb performance, improved approach speeds and significant reductions in noise and vibration. Hartzell is now marketing the props for Mooney M20, 201, 231 and 252 series aircraft, the Piper PA2BR-200 Arrow and Cessna 1778/RG Cardinal. Caa Announces Reduced Airways Charges:
The Civil Aviation Authority’s micro-economic reform program is paying off with reduced airways charges for the industry. CAA chairman Dick Smith announced that the 1991/92 airways charges would fall by about 5% in real terms and about 1 % In nominal terms. In announcing the charges, Dick Smith commented: “Economic conditions make it imperative that the Authority accelerate the planned pace of change. For each of the previous three years, the Authority has managed to reduce its airways charges in real terms. For 1991/92, we have gone even further, proposing that the charges be reduced even in nominal terms. These reductions in air traffic service charges. reflect a new direction for Australian aviation
administration. Our strategy now is to internationalise our procedures and systems so that we can use the latest proven technology. ”
