Beaufighter to The uk

In a surprise move it was advised that the Duxford based Old Flying Machine Company was importing a Bristol Beaufighter into the UK.

It is understood that this aircraft is one of the two that was held in Sydney NSW. One of these machines was being rebuilt to flying condition with much work having already been completed. The two local machines were identified as having been Australian built A8-324 and UK built A19-148, which were manufactured by the Department of Aircraft Production and Bristol respectively. About nine Beaufighters remain in the world with two on display in Australia, A8-186 at Camden NSW and A8-328 at Moorabbin Vic. Which machine is apparently going to the UK is unknown as yet. More news on this as it becomes available.
