To Russia W Ith Love:
A scene which not so long ago would have struck terror into the hearts of millions took place in March this year when a USAF Boeing B-52G bomber (accompanied by a KC-10 tanker) flew to Russia. The intention was not to turn the Cold War into a hot one but to spread goodwill as part of the US-CIS military to military programme. The aircraft spent five days at the Dyagilevo air base near Ryazan, Russia. Dyagilevo is used for training Tu-95 Bear bomber crews. In return, three CIS Bears and a Tu-160 Blackjack have been invitedto visitthe USA this month and two way visits by fighter aircraft are planned
