Reaction to Australian Aviation Proposals

Air New Zealand sees Australian Government proposals to change that country’s aviation policy as a welcome sign that restraints on the airline’s ability to include Australian stopovers on routes to and from Asia may at last be coming to an end.

Air New Zealand’s chief executive, Jim McCrea, said that the February 26 announcements from Mr Keating appeared on first reading to be largely philosophical indicators of a more liberal direction for future aviation policy.
