The Spruce Goose Saga Continues

As reported in the September issue of AA, the Hughes HK-1 Spruce Goose has been sold and is to be moved to McMinnville, Oregon. When viewed in late August at Long Beach the props and engines of the Goose had been removed and a few days later work commenced on removing the wings from the fuselage.

This huge aircraft was on display during this period but only one third of the floor area of the dome covering the Goose was accessible to the public and the pond beneath the aircraft had been filled in.
