Raaf Ct-4A Air trainers to Go to Public Auction:
Just the news many a warbird enthusiast and flying school operator has been waiting for is the announcement that the remaining RAAF CT-4A Airtrainers are to be publicly auctioned.
To be managed by specialist aviation auctioneers, Pickles Auctions Pty Ltd, the auction will take place at Bankstown airport on May 22 with the first of 34 aircraft due to arrive from Wagga shortly after Easter. Condition reports are available on each aircraft while the average hours flown by the type is only around 5000 and needless to say all are in Al condition. The matter of civil certification will also be clarified by time of auction as discussions with the CAA are currently taking place with the hope that perhaps the CT-4A will be able to be certificated as a sub type to the civil B version.
