Emirates has launched its premium economy cabin on Airbus A380s in Perth, making it the fourth Australian city to see the service.
The new class will be operating on Emirates’ daily flights, EK420/421 between Perth and Dubai, making the service a now four-class cabin in a way the airline says will enhance the flying experience for travellers.

“Perth and Western Australia are vital to our Australian operations, and bringing our award-winning Premium Economy here is a huge step forward for Emirates and for every Western Australian looking to travel better,” said Adam D’Ambrosio, regional sales manager at Emirates.
“This is not only a new product, but also a statement of our ongoing investment and commitment to ensuring Perth has direct access to our most advanced and comfortable products.
“For West Australians, it means a truly elevated flying experience, with easy, seamless connections to Europe and beyond, opening up endless possibilities for both business and leisure.”
This upgrade comes at a time when Perth Airport has crossed significant milestones and seen major growth in passengers, with a new record for total passenger numbers for the second time in just four months announced earlier this week.
International and regional passenger numbers saw their highest-ever October, at 485,895 and 588,900 respectively, also marking the second-highest month of all time.
“Perth Airport has seen record-breaking growth in passenger numbers, with international travel showing an impressive surge as international visitors arrive in Perth and West Australians take off on overseas adventures,” said acting chief commercial and aviation officer at Perth Airport, James Gorton.
“Emirates’ introduction of Premium Economy on its A380 service is a fantastic development that directly meets the growing demand for more comfort and enhanced travel options.
“This investment by Emirates positions Perth as a key destination and supports the strong performance of the Western Australian economy by connecting us more effectively to the world.”
The Emirates A380 will now see Aussie passengers being offered 14 first-class suites, 76 business-class seats, 56 premium economy seats, and 322 economy-class seats.
The premium economy cabin will feature in-seat chatting points, side tables, 13.3-inch entertainment screens, and will provide additional comfort through a footrest, “generous” recline, and amenities kits.
