BAE Systems Australia has successfully completed a Production Readiness Review (PPR) for the tail components it manufactures for the F-35 JSF program.
“Achieving this key milestone of PRR means we are a step closer towards full rate production, which would involve further production readiness assessments,” according to Kim Scott, BAE System’s land and integrated systems director. “At full rate production we will be delivering 70 aircraft sets per annum, with over 30 parts in each set.”

BAE says that is has so far delivered over 370 vertical tail parts, comprising 13 aircraft shipsets, from its Edinburgh Parks manufacturing facility in northern Adelaide.
“To date, all shipsets delivered have met the stringent quality standards and customer schedule expectations,” Scott said.
