Airservices Australia has announced the signing of a new, 10 year contract with AeroPearl Pty Ltd to continue operating its Flight Inspection Service (FIS), in a deal worth over $100 million.
Under the new contract, which takes effect from January 1 2013, Brisbane based AeroPearl will operate two new Beechcraft King Air B350s, replacing its existing two B200s. They will be equipped with specialist measuring equipment from Germany’s Aerodata AG to “check the accuracy of over 500 pieces of critical air navigational equipment on a three year rotational basis”, according to Airservices, including instrument landing systems, distance measuring equipment, VHF omni-directional radio range positioning systems and non-directional beacons.
