Tony Davis is leaving Tiger Airways.

Tiger Airways is searching for a new CEO for its Australian operations with the announcement that Tony Davis will leave the airline with effect from November 1.

Davis had been CEO of Tiger Airways Holdings, but was appointed to lead the company’s Australian operations following its grounding by CASA in early July, replacing Crawford Rix. Davis was in turn replaced as CEO of the parent company in an acting capacity by Chin Yau Seng, who has been appointed to that role permanently from November 1. Davis, meanwhile, will leave Tiger “to take up a new position outside of the company”.

“Tony’s most recent job was to get Tiger Airways Australia back in the air. He has worked tirelessly, together with our Australia management team to relaunch the airline resulting in the resumption of Tiger Airways Australia’s services on 12 August,” said Chin.

“The company had maintained that Tony would stay on in his current role as Tiger Airways Australia’s CEO until the airline was able to resume services in Australia and was in a position to implement its recovery plan. The recovery plan has now begun and reinforces the airline’s commitment to safety and operational excellence, which includes ensuring that its flights are reliable and punctual. The board is appreciative of the efforts that Tony and the Australia management team had put in to get Tiger Airways Australia back in the air,” he added.

Tiger says it is in the “process of appointing a permanent replacement” for Davis, with an announcement expected in “due course”.
