Infrastructure & Transport Minister Anthony Albanese announced on November 2 that he has approved Perth Airport’s 2009 Master Plan, which includes major plans to consolidate its terminals at the current international precinct.
“In response to Perth’s growing need for modern, well planned aviation infrastructure, the Master Plan sets out a 10 year, $2.4 billion investment program which includes the phased relocation of all regular passenger services to the international precinct,” said Minister Albanese.

“In addition, the Commonwealth and state governments are working together to identify how road and public transport links to and from the airport can be improved. This $3.5 million study is due to be finalised next year.”
Minister Albanese added that he has requested that Airservices Australia, the airport and operators ensure that residents around Perth are made aware of the impacts of planned flightpath changes to accommodate runway works over six weeks in early 2010. The works will see flights use the smaller cross-runway at the airport for their duration, and will require aircraft to be re-routed over some areas which have previously had minimal traffic.
