Pilots stood down over landing gear incident

Qantas has stood down two pilots after an incident on October 26 where they prepared their Boeing 767 to land without engaging the landing gear.

The crew were reportedly on approach for landing at Sydney Airport and were understood to have been at an altitude of 700ft when they recognised that the gear had not been extended, and initiated a go-around. Shortly after, the aircraft’s Enchanced Ground Proximity Warning System sounded a “gear too low” aural alarm. The aircraft made a successful go-around and landed soon after.
