Airservices opens Broome facilities

Transport Minister Anthony Albanese has officially opened Airservices Australia’s first combined air traffic control (ATC) tower and fire station at Broome Airport.

The ATC tower, which is the first new one in Australia in 15 years, stands at just over 16m tall, and features the latest air navigation technology, while the fire station houses three Rosenbauer Mk 8 ultra-large fire vehicles. The complex was designed and built over 14 months at a cost of $20 million.
