A Qantas pilot has been stood down from duties after testing positive for alcohol.
The pilot was removed from a Boeing 767 flight from Sydney to Brisbane moments before takeoff last Monday over concerns that she had been drinking. The pilot, who has not been identified, later tested positive for alcohol, CASA said.

“Qantas informed us, as it should have, when the incident occurred,” CASA spokesman Peter Gibson told the AAP.
CASA did not know how high the pilot’s alcohol reading was, Gibson added. Qantas has a zero tolerance alcohol policy for its pilots.
The airline has declined comment other than to confirm that a pilot had been withheld for service for “administrative reasons.”
