TAE has opened a Turbine Engine Maintenance Facility at Adelaide Airport and added a new PT6 engine maintenance capability at Brisbane airport.
The new Adelaide facility will serve as a test and maintenance facility for turboprop engines across the region, while the addition of engine maintenance at Brisbane airport will offer customers a “light” maintenance capability, TAE said.

TAE’s Turbine Engine Maintenance Facility was opened by the South Australian Minister for Manufacturing, Innovation and Trade, Tom Koutsantonis. The 1500 square meter facility has been built with a dual capacity dynamometer test cell and is approved by CASA.
“This new facility will allow TAE to continue to offer its customers the best maintenance and testing capability in the Asia Pacific region right here in Adelaide,” Mr Koutsantonis says.
Brisbane airport’s new maintenance includes power and hot section repairs for all PT6 model and has the same overhaul capacity of the new Adelaide facility. The Brisbane facility has been outfitted with TAE’s regional wheels & tyres operation and is the new home of TAE’s PT6 and TPE331 Field Service Team.
“We’ve invested in this new capability in south east Queensland to help our customers in this important region have access to our great service, right where they operate” said general manager, Andrew Sanderson.
TAE’s full service portfolio now includes maintenance and repairs for the Honeywell TPE331 and the P&WC PT6A turboprop engines, the Hamilton Sundstrand APS500 and APS1000 auxiliary power units and the F404 and F414 engines for the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet.
