According to the figures released by the Airports Council International (ACI), many airports in the Asia Pacific region recorded double-digit growth, which it says was “due to the robust economic growth in their own countries and the rising propensity to travel in the region”.

Jakarta posted 14.4 per cent growth, followed by Dubai (+13.2 per cent), Bangkok (+10.6 per cent), Singapore (+10 per cent) and Seoul (+11.3 per cent).

Airfreight in Asia Pacific remained stagnant with a modest increase of 0.5 per cent, while Middle East airfreight rose 4.2 per cent.
