Boeing says it has improved the fuel efficiency of its 737 MAX by a further one per cent, and is also promising reduced maintenance and support costs.
Consequently, Boeing says 737 MAX operators “will realise a 14 per cent fuel-efficiency improvement over today’s most fuel efficient single-aisle aircraft. At longer ranges, the improvement will be even greater.”

Further, the MAX will feature new maintenance management information systems, including incorporating Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) information onto the flight deck. “Today, maintenance technicians access this fault data in the forward electronic equipment bay of the aircraft. By bringing this data up to the flight deck, maintenance issues can be resolved faster,” Boeing said.
