The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has advised Congress that Iraq has requested the sale of 24 Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and associated sensors, weapons, communications, and support equipment at a package cost of about US$4.8 billion.
The request also includes training packages and support, technical, maintenance and logistics support, and facilities design and construction.

Iraq recently took delivery of Russian Mil Mi-35 assault helicopters and is rumoured to have also bought a number of Mil Mi-28 attack helicopters from Russia as well.

says:I think the Iraqis should stick with the Russian platforms, they’re cheaper, Mi-Mi 35, and 28 have similar controls, and are equivalent in ability to surrounding countries helos.
