Pratt & Whitney has announced it has awarded a contract to South Australian firm Levett Engineering to manufacture components for F135 engines for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter.

The new contract covers bearing housings, covers, and related mechanical system components and has a potential value of approximately $200 million over the life of the F-35 program. This is in addition to a previous contract from P&W to manufacture second and third-stage turbine vane tubes and covers for the F135.
