Jetstar has applied a special livery on one of its Airbus A320 aircraft to kick off a sponsorship deal with Little Athletics Australia.

As part of the two-year naming rights partnership, decals featuring the image of two Little Athletics participants – Sean Phillips and Gemma Casaceli – have been applied on the fuselage of A320 VH-VFL along with the words “Helping Little Aths reach for the stars” and the Little Athletics logo.

The A320 will fly domestically around Australia and on trans-Tasman routes, Jetstar said on Wednesday.

“The aircraft livery reflects the spirit of the partnership, which aims to support Jetstar Little Athletics’ mission to develop children of all abilities by promoting positive attitudes and a healthy lifestyle through family and community involvement in athletic activities,” Jetstar group chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka said in a statement.

“During the next 12 months this aircraft will fly more than two million kilometres and connect thousands of families across the 19 Australian cities we fly to.”

Little Athletics president Derek Fineberg said he hoped the aircraft would increase awareness of athletics and encourage more children to get involved in the sport.
