Qantas has given its support to the Australian Paralympic Committee’s efforts to promote workplace safety.
The airline is the first member of the APC’s Workplace Safety Alliance, an initiative that hopes to bring together businesses from the transport, mining, construction and manufacturing sector to raise awareness about the importance of safety at work.

The APC said it was in a unique position to deliver messages around workplace safety through its athletes.
Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said the airline was proud to be involved in an “important national initiative”.
“The goals of the Workplace Safety Alliance match Qantas’s own ambitions for an incident-free workplace,” Joyce said in a statement on Friday.
Qantas has sponsored the APC since 1960.
