Australian company Micreo has announced that it is shipping production components to Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems for the ALR-69A(V) radar warning receiver (RWR) system.
The designer and manufacturer of radio frequency subsystems for aerospace and defence applications stated that it was selected by Raytheon more than two years ago for the design and development of the Microwave Integrated Circuit (MIC) for the RWR. The first production units delivered by Micreo will be used on the KC-46A Pegasus aerial refuelling and airlift aircraft that is intended to replace the US Air Force’s KC-135 Stratotanker.

says:Microwave, millimetric wave and photonics are essential business areas we should support especially in relation to electromagnetic compatability and interference with EW equipment. I gather with photonics because of total internal reflectance in optical fibre whether using LASER etc you do not get the skin effects and dielectric losses in circuitry and wave guides of MASERs and RF equipment. It has been a while since I was studying the relevant theories. We need to maintain a competitive advantage in this field.
