Airports cut parking fees for stranded passengers

written by australianaviation.com.au | April 23, 2010

Sydney and Brisbane airports have both announced special concessions for passengers whose travel was disrupted by the Icelandic volcano eruption which grounded flights to and from Europe.

“We recognise that an act of nature such as this has caused enormous inconvenience and cost to tourists and leisure and business travellers alike,” said Brisbane Airport spokesman Jim Carden. “It is something completely out of the hands of the passenger and while we believe it is not a huge number of passengers affected at Brisbane Airport, we think it is only fair to spare them this one additional cost.”
