Embraer has delivered its first Praetor 600 super-midsize business jet to an undisclosed European customer.
The aircraft manufacturer said in a statement on June 28 that it marked the event with a ceremony at its production facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil, where the first Praetor 600 rolled off the hybrid assembly line.

Production of the Praetor would soon move to Embraer’s Melbourne, Florida, facility in the United States, which has produced more than 360 Phenom and Legacy aircraft since 2011, the company said.
Embraer Executive Jets chief executive Michael Amalfitano said he was confident customers would be fascinated with the most disruptive and technologically advanced super-midsize business jet to enter the market.
“The Praetor 600 is certain to create a new value experience for our customers and help them outperform in their business and personal endeavours,” Amalfitano said.
Embraer launched the Praetor 600 and smaller Praetor 500 in the mid-sized business jet categoryin November 2018.

The Praetor 500 is based on Embraer’s Legacy 450, while the Praetor 600 is based on the Legacy 500. The aircraft have been named after the Roman title given to an army commander or elected magistrate.
The Praetor 600 received its type certificate on April 18, 2019 from Brazil’s civil aviation authority Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC). It is the only super-midsize business jet to be certified since 2014.
It is also the first super-midsize jet with full fly-by-wire technology, powering turbulence reduction for maximum smoothness and efficiency, Embraer said.
Embraer Engineering and Technology executive vice president Daniel Moczydlower said: “With Embraer’s fourth-generation fly-by-wire technology and more than 25 patented innovations in the interior design and architecture, the Praetor 600 will ensure an industry-exclusive customer experience and raise their expectations of business jets.”
The Praetor 600 has a maximum operating altitude of 45,000ft and is now the farthest-flying super-midsize jet, able to make nonstop flights between Dubai and London, Paris and New York, and São Paulo and Miami.
With four passengers and under National Business Aviation Association (NBBA) instrument flight rules (IFR) reserves, the Praetor 600 has an intercontinental range of 4,018nm, and a maximum speed of 0.83 Mach.
Otherwise, its range is 3,719nm (6,887 km) at Mach 0.8 with four passengers, according to the Embraer website. The 27ft 6in cabin can seat up 12 passengers.
Both the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600, respectively, feature new winglets, increased fuel capacity and new Honeywell HTF 7500E turbofan engines. They also have a Rockwell Collins ProLine Fusion flight deck that includes vertical weather display, air-traffic-control-like situational awareness with ADSB-IN, and predictive wind shear radar capability.
Further, the jets offer options that include the Embraer Enhanced Vision System (E2VS) with a Head-up Display (HUD) and an Enhanced Video System (EVS), an Inertial Reference System (IRS) and a Synthetic Vision Guidance System (SVGS).
