In a video posted on Facebook, young choir singers in home isolation perform Peter Allen’s 1980 song ‘I still call Australia home’.

Chief customer officer Stephanie Tully said, “As domestic and trans-Tasman travel restrictions begin to ease, we hope this short video inspires people to start thinking about their next trip, particularly to destinations that are a little closer to home.”

The iconic song was first used by Qantas in the 1990s and is regarded as one of Australia’s most successful ever advertising campaigns.

It has been brought back multiple times by the business, including in a 2018 safety video. The children in the video are from The Australian Girls Choir and The Gondwana National Choir and are aged between 8 and 18.

They are from all over the country, including Toowoomba in Queensland, Albany in Western Australia and Wollongong in NSW. As the children sing, dramatic images of iconic Australian landscapes are shown.

“If isolation and travel restrictions have shown Australians anything, it’s how much they value seeing the people and places they love,” said Tully.

Always brought a tear to my eye when I was at overseas cities’, & saw the big ‘Roo on my aircraft’s tail! I was home!

QANTAS has always been my choice of carrier, when going OS. Why wouldn’t it be, as it’s the safest airline in the world, for years’ on end!

Maybe, if domestic passengers were tested for the Covid19 immediately prior to travel at the airport, and test results were negative, travel could be permitted, with no isolation.
The worlds Governments should offer international travel again, on the proviso that all passengers be tested for Covid19, or go into government controlled, passenger funded 14 day isolation.
When the vaccine is available, International travel be permitted, but you will need to have had the jab at least three weeks prior to travel, and then no 14 day isolation will be required.
